Name
The first challenge is to find the right Name for the project. The name should be short, memorable and meaningful. So, we started with combinations containing Tri, as the most obvious. This in combination with some forms of our name. Nothing sounded right. Next, we went on the search for botanical and animal names, as we used for our first boat. But also here we run out of ideas quiet fast. From there we went over to Adjectives, in the hope of finding a strong name. But either they were to long or an internet search returned thousands of hits using the name. We almost gave up, all the good stuff is taken.
Finally, one day driving in the car, Kerstin said: why are we so focused on words, why not try to find a saying to create an abbreviation.
Me: What do you mean with saying.
Kerstin: How about "Joy of Life".
Milos: Sounds good.
Kerstin: Which would create JoL. JoL-Trimaran
Me behind the wheel, Kerstin searched the internet and found no other boat projects with the same name. This internet search also showed that in South Africa slang Jol means "to have a good time", which fits perfectly.
We have a name...
One day later Kerstin asked me, if I still like the name.
Me: Yes, more than yesterday.
So, yes we got a name.
From there it was pretty straightforward. During my lunch break, I sketched a logo. At home we cleaned it up and create the one you see in the background.
