Amas - Cleaning and shaping connections

And here we are lamination is cured. It looks very good too, so we can jump to another work. Cleaning and shaping ama connection surfaces. For this job you should switch all artistic and aesthetic senses off. A good eye and a mask on the face all the time will be enough. It's a dirty and itchy job.
Let's see what needs to be done. Top center line is technically one straight plank from back to front, which represents the connection line with the other half. What I had to do is to "just" cut off exceeding fiberglass partially saturated with epoxy. And then sand gently and rounding it a bit, so we enlarge the gluing surface. Doesn't sound really like a horrible job. But everyone who already worked with fiberglass, especially when you have to sand it, knows what I am talking about. After every session, I looked like a Christmas tree, covered with all those beautiful and magical glowing glitter. Do I want a Christmas tree this year? Please, always wear that overall for painters or as we say here den Schutzanzug. Otherwise, your washing machine even after 5 washing cycles, still spits out "glittery" socks and T-Shirts. Literally everything your nicer half puts in for washing. Not happy at all. Sorry Kerstin. I learned my lesson… won't happened again.

OK, back to workshop. The bottom center line was planked a bit different way as you can see on the picture. So, a bit of jig saw and then planer job needed, plus again band and orbital sander at the end.

I marked the reference points already during planking with permanent pen to get a nice line. I just had to connect those points. In this case, I really had to think a few steps ahead, because when the scaffold with solid and perfectly leveled and measured reference points is gone, they are really gone… Good job Milos you are the best… haha… I am not sure this will go through the editor. Let's try.

What really bothers me, is that the amas are getting heavier and every time I need to move them or swap one for another to work on it, I need to call somebody for help. Help meee… Hilfeeee… Something like this. And my lovely Kerstin, she also already mentioned that it is getting a bit too heavy to handle. So what should I do? Crane? I have to sleep on it…
